Mixed Media/Fiber      35″ W x 45″ L

The piece is inspired by my visit to China and Tibet and includes the many symbols of Buddhism that I experienced. It tells the story of peace, beauty, prayer, and culture. Serenity is a composite of many places; The Buddha I used in this piece was found in an off the beaten path temple in Chengdu. The prayer wheels were seen at The Potala Palace in Lhasa. The Chinese silk was found in the fabric market in Hong Kong. Bamboo grows everywhere in china and represents the growth and strength found through a relationship with the Buddha. The vase of flowers in front of the Buddha is representational of all the gifts used in worship. The globe symbolizes the universality of faith and a hope for unity through religion instead of conflict.    Sold
