Out on the Town

Mixed Media/Fiber   45“ W x 65″ L

I often walk down 16th St on a Friday night. Larimer Square is buzzing, all the restaurants and bars are busy. And even in the casual, blue jeans culture of Denver there will be a couple that is all dressed up and ready to go out on the town. This couple was like so many others, just ready to enjoy all the happenings on Friday night, ready to dance, to share a drink and love being part of the scene. The black and white composition evolved from an earlier trip to the Denver Art Museum. There was an exhibit of exquisite pottery figures done all in black and white. They were covered with black and white flowers or abstract designs. I have forgotten the name of the Mexican artist but his work inspired me to reproduce the idea. Thus, evolved the “Out on the Town” figures.   Sold
