Garden of the Gods
Mixed Media/Fiber 30 “ W x 40" L
I have always believed there are special places on earth that feel very spiritual. In these places it is almost like the very ground and rock has absorbed mystical powers and is slowly giving it back to the universe. I get this feeling whenever I visit the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. I just immerse myself in the rock formations and the reflections of sunlight on the red rock. The gnarled ancient pine trees add to the mystery. $1,200

Devotion
Mixed Media/Fiber 36“ W x 50" L
This piece was inspired by my visit to Tibet. “Devotion” tells the story of the piety and dedication shown to the Dali Lama by pilgrims. This woman walked hundreds of miles to worship The Buddha at the Potala Palace. Prayers are offered through prayer flags, prayer beads and prostration to the Buddha. The classic blue and orange palette helps interpret the intensity of scene. “Devotion” is part of the series called “The Search for God” that I began in 2009 and continue to build on today. I used hand dyed and painted fabric of cotton, silk, and velvet. Photo transfer was used to create the worshipping women and the prayer flags. Stitching built the texture of the mountains and clouds. $1,200

Fantasy Canyon
Mixed Media/Fiber 32“ W x 42" L
This piece was inspired by a bike ride along Boulder Creek. I stopped to sketch Boulder Canyon. The river was running strong and the light was playing on the rocks of the canyon. When I decided to create a somewhat abstracted version the color palette evolved more into grays, shades of purple and green. I wanted to keep the shimmer of light and give it a feeling of a pleasant fantasy. Thus, I named it “Fantasy Canyon”. I used hand dyed and painted fabric of cotton, silk, and velvet. Beads are added along with silver ribbon to add to the fantasy feeling. Sold

Majesty
Mixed Media/Fiber 37" W x46" L
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison inspired “Majesty”. As an artist I have always found it extremely challenging to interpret the beauty of Colorado’s breath-taking views. This landscape of deep gorges, twisted trees, deep blue skies, continuously developing cloud formations, and rocks of every hue demanded to be interpreted. Since fabric and stitch is my chosen medium there is the added challenge of interpreting hardness with a soft medium. I loved the challenge and feel the piece captures this awe-inspiring landscape. Giraffes Cruising
Mixed Media/Fiber 35" W x 42" L
A friend wanted me to create this piece as a gift for her mother who loves giraffes. I had pictures from my trip to South Africa, but I also spent a lovely afternoon at the zoo photographing the giraffes. Three giraffes gave me a chance to focus on the uniqueness of the spots and coloring of each giraffe. They are beautiful creatures that I could watch for hours. It reminds me that everyone is unique and has their own characteristics that help define them. Sold

If you have ever visited the Greek Islands, I am sure you have a memory of the breath-taking coastline. It is hard to capture this majesty found only on the Greek coastline. Crimson Reflections
Mixed Media/Fiber 37" W x 27" L
It is easy to forget how big the state of Colorado really is. It seems to take forever to reach the far corners of my state. But 4 hours out of Denver in the south west of the state is a beautiful area surrounding the town of Creede. Sitting on the deck in a cabin just up the hill from the town, I sketched the wonder of these gorgeous cliffs. Sunlight made them literally turn crimson in color. Red was just one of the colors found in these magnificent rocks; there was orange, purple, pink, and lavender. When I returned home I translated my sketch into fabric, paint, oil pastels and stitch. $1,300

Over the Hill Gang
Mixed Media/Fiber 40" W x 68" L

“Over the Hill” interprets the joy of hiking with friends in the national forest west of Denver. Sure, sometimes when you are hot and tired you wonder why climbing this mountain trail made sense to you when you signed up for the trip with The Colorado Mountain Club and then you come to a beautiful vista. The vista seems to go on and on with peaks in the distance seeming close but far away. I always take pictures of the group as we hike; this group of people is over 55 and able to hike on Wednesdays because everyone is retired or has flexible working hours. “Over the Hill” is named after the nickname for our group, The Over the Hill Gang. Whenever I look at this piece it brings back memories of our hikes. I hope it does the same thing for you. Sold

Desert Vista I & II
Mixed Media/Fiber each piece 34" W x 24" L
I had the privilege of visiting Morocco. The Sahara Desert is awe inspiring; it is like no other place on earth. My friend and I shared a tent in a remote encampment. We reached this small encampment after a long jeep ride across the sand creating a long plume of dust behind us. On our second day in the desert we rode a camel allowing us to experience the drifting sand that changed by the minute. The colors created by changing dunes and shadows were almost infinite, pinks, mauves, purples, orange, brown and rust. I took hundreds of pictures. When I returned home, I created these pieces to share the beauty of the desert with others. $900 each or $1,600 for both
