“Happiness” is finally finished . I began this piece several months ago. I had decided I was happiest when working on one of my large cubist pieces. I looked at pictures from my cubist focused art books, and of course, I zeroed in a Picasso piece. There were two Picasso pieces that spoke to me. Here they are:
I wanted to make the piece flow more than the first Picasso piece so I posed myself in front of a mirror and drew myself on a pad of paper. I used the technique that I learned from a teacher at The Art Students League of Denver. I drew with a black pen and never looked at the sheet of paper, only at the figure I was drawing.
I will follow up on my next blog post with more of my process for creating my art work.

I called this piece, “Wallpaper”, since a tired worker was sitting in front of a finished project. You can check out the other pieces in my dreaming series in small works catagory.

This is where I will share some of my thoughts on art, life, things that are happening around me, or just my feeling on what’s moving me at a certain time. I hope you’ll enjoy my points of view and share them with your friends and family.

Visit Sync Gallery at 930 Santa Fe Dr. in Denver. The gallery is open Thursday, Friday, and Sunday 1- 4 pm and on Saturday 12-4 pm. As things lighten up a bit per COVID-19 guidelines there are a few more people but it still feels safe with masks and social distancing. Since I can’t realistically show the work of all twenty artists, I picked my three-favorite works, pretending I was a jurist giving First, Second and Third Price.
My First Choice—Johanna Morrell
Johanna did three wonderful abstract pieces using ink and acrylic paint on plexiglass
My Second Choice-Lisa Garrison
Lisa is exhibiting three acrylic landscape paintings, that have mystery and create feelings within me of the possible places they represent
My Third Choice-Andi Burnum
Andi did a fabulous paper collage of two cows. This normally would not be a subject matter I would choice but her use of small pieces of torn paper is intriguing.

In the Member Gallery at Sync Gallery my Piece, Fire God
This piece is the 3rd in a series based on the ancient Gods of Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth. Earth has sold, and I still need to create Wind God. I may try another version of Earth God also.
